The art of letter Writing

Post by Northern Lass »

A dying one methinks

Do you write letters to people?

Do you enjoy doing it?

Everything now is so instant, emails, pms, phone calls.

Yes I still write letters to people who don't have e-mails, I used to enjoy writing letter but these days find it hard with arthritis in my hands and finger.

I think it's a shame that the act of writing letters has died. Although i do try when composing an e-mail,as anyone who has had the pleasure of recieving one from me will verify, try to compose one in the same way as i would if writing a letter.
I hate abbreviations.I hate with a passion the new way of spelling influenced by text messages.I very rarely send one and if i do i spell all the words properly.

I know of Brook Bond and James Bond.

Didn't Russ Abbott have a character named Basildon Bond on one of his t.v. sketches?

It might be snail mail, but I still enjoy getting post the old fashioned way (as long as it's not a bill!!). I'm waiting at the moment for some from the GRO, the suspense is killing me!!
As far as modern technology is concerned, I pick and choose. Living without the internet is a no go these days, but I could easily live without my mobile (try texting me and see how long it takes for me to notice!).
