I wonder if Sarah's father (Edward on BCC) was actual William and Edward was his middle name

This is so frustrating!
so who is her Father cos no Edward there so it must be maybe William?

can anyone get a handle on it...then we can explore the Woodhouse connection too

There is this death

Deaths Dec 1869
Hampton Edward 30 Dudley 6c 48

that would fit with her dob and maybe why she is living with grandparents.
But then why no Edward on the census with this family
esp as the family seems to be the correct one cos of the marriage for Alice Sarahs sister on marriage cert as a witness.

Can anyone find this William post 1891 cos that would rule him out being a William Edward.
Plus on the births there is an Edward b 1840 and William b 1840
:?
I will look up that marriag for Alice too

There is an IGI entry for Emily Hampton, mother Elizabeth Hampton bpt Reddall Hill 7 Jan 1863 but no source for it. Perhaps this is a collection of illegit grandchildren? The Mary Ann in the 1881 census seems to be Caroline's daughter bapt Reddall Hill 13th Feb 1882 (no source again but it seems to be a proper entry with loads of names for the same batch number C018264
