1911 Census soon to be on TheGenealogist

Post by MarkCDodd »

No word from Ancestry when they will take the plunge but it looks like TheGenealogist will be the first site after FindMyPast to have the 1911 UK Census.

I think they are using the F.M.P indexes which means it should not take long for it to appear.

Apparently the cost of the index and images is £3,000,000 so most sites will charge extra to cover the costs if they host it.

I think TheGenealogist will bundle it with some other items to make the extra cost palatable.

Good chance that the Mormons could stuff everybody up by putting in on FamilySearch for free :P

Three million quid is chicken feed to them.

1911 Census is now on Genes Reunited. No fanfare. No big deal. It just appeared!
