Sorry if this has been brought up before - just can't see it.....
Just wondering if any of you, during your family hunting, have uncovered facts you wish you had not discovered and rather would have preferred to have left the stone unturned?
I think I might be in such a situation right now. Evidence so far seems to indicate my great-grandfather, when he was a youngster living in a large family in Copenhagen, Denmark erm, "got together" with his sister, from whence I, eventually, came. (I now know how John Prescott, MP, felt when he made a recent, similar discovery within his family tree).
I'm still investigating this, exploring other avenues to try and disprove this theory
otherwise.......
I should'nt be here!
Ho hum

Not many family tree programs could handle that one

Found lots of skeletons. I think it just makes it all more interesting. Incidentally, the Hawaiian royal family used to arrange similar liaisons so as to produce superior human beings. There you go

Re: Rather not know?
I've just discovered, to my shock, one of my "twice removed" ancesters in Denmark was shot by the Nazis outside his home in 1944.
Bit of surprise that but, at least, he was already a widower so his wife would not have suffered any ordeal at the time.......

Re: Rather not know?
I'm not sure at the moment if he had any children because it's all in Danish and takes a while to translate (feel guilty asking others to translate for me too often...)
But I presume he did as he was a lawyer and ran a successful law firm which is still there to this day albeit under a different name.
On another note, I've just discovered yet another Danish ancester was on the board of directors at a - wait for it - Danish bacon factory in Randers, Denmark! The "sizzling" hunt is now on for the missing heirloom....!
