Have a look at the ages of James and Caroline. If James is Caroline's father, he was only 11 when she was born.
I had a look at the image and those are definately the ages recorded.
Some mistakes are too much fun
to only make once.

So, even taking into account the usual 5 year variation for the 1841 census, James way understated his age on the '51?
Some mistakes are too much fun
