Thank you, that makes me feel better. I will just keep looking. You have been wonderful with your help and support and I thank you. Maybe one day I will be able to prove who was "Charles's" parents, I hope so, then I can pass this on to my grandchildren. If in passing you find something of interest please let me know.
Thanks.

I have been looking at Family Search and found the below family and am wondering if someone could find more information on them.
I have found out from a kind person who did a look-up for me at Grantham that Charles's birth was not registered there but it could have been in one of the smaller parishes but unlikely. Charles was my Grandfather and there seems to be a connection between the names of the below children and Charles's children.

Name Relation Marital Status Gender Age Birthplace Occupation Disability - census 1881
Joseph WARREN Head M Male 39 Ware, Hertford, England Ag Lab
Kitty WARREN Wife M Female 36 Great Munden, Hertford, England (Charles's daugh Katie Droa (Kit for short)
Joseph Wm. WARREN Son U Male 17 Wareside, Hertford, England Ag Lab (Charles's son Joseph William)
William WARREN Son U Male 15 Wareside, Hertford, England Ag Lab (Charles's son Robert William, my father)
Charles Henry WARREN Son U Male 12 Wareside, Hertford, England Scholar (Charles's son Charles Alfred)
Mary Ann WARREN Daur U Female 10 Wareside, Hertford, England Scholar (Charles's daug Mary Constance)
Arthur WARREN Son U Male 9 Wareside, Hertford, England Scholar
Henry WARREN Son U Male 7 Wareside, Hertford, England Scholar (Charles's son Henry Norman)
Frederick WARREN Son U Male 5 Wareside, Hertford, England Scholar
Alfred WARREN Son U Male 2 Widford, Hertford, England (Charles's son Charles Alfred)

This is a long shot and I am thinking out-side of the square but there could be a connection.

I think this is Charles Henry Warren in 1891:

1891
At Worcester Villa, Pearcroft Rd., Leyton, Essex
John G Miller Head 28 Railway Carpenter b. London, Dalston
Esther A Miller Wife 21 b. Norfolk, Saxthorpe
E L H Miller Daur 8/12 . essex, Leyton
Ada Bullock Visitor 13 General Servant Domestic b. Norfolk, Saxthorpe
Charles H Warren Lodger Single 22 Railway Porter b. Herts., Wareside

The railways connection is interesting.

Thanks so much Daniel, if this is correct my Charles could still have emmigrated to Aust after 1891 and got married here in 1900. Family records could be wrong regarding his emmigration year.
Except - recorded on the Qld Railways records - Warren, Charles T. 1 May 1899 Southern Division, Locomotive Branch Cleaner 2 shillings 6 pence per day 1899 3 70 ----maybe, I don't know what do you think?
Do you have access to the actual copies of the census reports, I would like to put them in my records if this is the correct family? May I give you my email adddress?

Unless Charles had been back and forth a bit, it doesn't seem to add up. PM me your email address if you would like those images.

It is hard to take in such a long thread but this is very confusing to me.

I can't tell what is "fact" and what is supposition.

Why is the birthplace of Grantham taken as being incorrect?
