Sarah Dingley

Post by Pudsey to Howard »

Hi

Sarah is the daughter of James & Sarah Dingley on BCC as Sarah E Dingley born 1812 in Shropshire:

http://bcconnections.tribalpages.com/tr ... =895252778

There is a christening for a Sarah Dingley, the child of James & Sarah Dingley, on the IGI [extracted C013762] on 27 DEC 1818 at Halesowen.

On a number of trees on Ancestry they identify Sarah as Sarah Elizabeth, daughter of James & Sarah Dingley, having married a James Alsopp in 1836 in Clent.

However I've found a marriage for a Sarah Dingley to a Thomas Jennings on the IGI [extracted M040143] on 26 JAN 1835 at Saint Thomas, Dudley.

I've found Sarah & Thomas in various census records from 1841-1881 and the details seem to match up with what I've found.

What do you reckon?

Doug

Parts of Halesowen were noted as Halesowen Shropshire on 1841 Census and some became Halesowen Worcestershire or were part of Staffordshire from 1851 on

If that is Sarah on the bapts that FS has flagged
then she is just Sarah

and on marriage she is Sarah Eliza Dingley

why do we have the Sarah with James and Sarah as a Sarah E?

I have altered the name from Sarah E to Sarah for the dau of James Dingley and Sarah Harris

so it is possible that that Sarah married Jennings
SARAH DINGLEY
THOMAS JENNINGS
Marriage: 26 JAN 1835 Saint Thomas, Dudley, Worcester

I think that would then work

that John Dingley that Sarah Jennings is next to on the 1881 has father Henry Dingley
Henry Dingley is the step bro to James Dingley that had Sarah Dingley that I think married Jennings
so they are step cousins

what do we think

I think it is Jennings Doug
and I think as per the bapt
she is a Sarah and not Sarah Eliza
I think Sarah Eliza is the dau of Ira Dingley
