A person should have an opinion on everything, It becomes tact whether you reveal that opinion or not.

I'm back!

Had a fabulous time ... and it's so nice knowing I'll be heading off again in only a few weeks! Usually I get all depressed when a holiday is over, but THIS time ... woo, hoo! Just time to wash my clothes and repack the suitcase!

It was still really cold in Beijing - the magnolias and other blossoms only just starting to bloom and hardly any trees with leaves on them. Glad I took my thermals with me.

Gosh, there are crowds of tourists in Beijing now! The Olympics must have inspired lots of people to go there. We went to the Forbidden City on a Monday and it was packed (like it only used to be on the weekend).

Went to lovely part of the Great Wall (after a lot of nagging - or rather, persuading, from me) where you could get up to the top of the Wall by cable car instead of hundreds of steps. There was a fantastic view of the Wall marching away across jagged mountain tops into the far distance. Did Tai Chi on top of the Wall to applause from Chinese people, and the bemusement of the non-Chinese tourists.

We ate and ate and ate - At least 12 dishes at both lunch and dinner! But I worked most of it off learning Xing Yi for 2 hours every day. (involved lots of stamping - I can do a great Hissy fit now).

Really, REALLY looking forward to getting over and seeing you folks, now!
