Can anybody do lookups on this cemetery?
Last time I asked the records were not kept at Sandwell.

Re: Rood End Cemetery
Thanks, I had seen that thread and tried to find this elusive index.
The index, if there was one, was never published or advertised.
I would say I easily have close to 100 Culters, Fords and Homers buried there.
I have just heard from a Ford cousin who was over there a few years ago and had to look through the original registers.
She gave me the plot numbers for a few Fords but when she went looking for them in the actual cemetery the markers were unreadable and the whole place in disrepair.
She also said that quite a few headstones had been vandalised.
I would say just about anybody with West Brom/Oldbury relatives would have a few buried in this cemetery.

Re: Rood End Cemetery
Ok just phoned up Sandwell Archives
and they do have them!
So the details are as follows
and I will put this somewhere for reference prob under History section and look up offers
Anyway
ROOD END CEMETARY
Burial Register
July 1858 - Oct 1984 Burial Register
By Date
Section and Plot no given
No plan you would need to contact Sandwell Bereavement Service for that to see exact location
http://www.laws.sandwell.gov.uk/ccm/nav ... IWz7p41VSf

Re: Rood End Cemetery
Ok Mark was that any help you are quiet!
Now if you want one looking up and you have the year and the quarter I might have a look for ya
next time I go
we need day month year to do a look up on the Dudley and Smethwick list
but ask this pommie shiela nicely and she might do it
and while we are on what happened to that Sarah TAylor you never posted that for a look up either.
Got to be on the right list though
