So here's what I figure about the relationships between the Johnsons and the Dingleys (There's probably more):

Lucy DINGLEY (1780 - 1857), parents William DINGLEY & Nancy PRIEST, married Aaron JOHNSON (1797).

Ira (1789 - 1864) parents, William DINGLEY & Nancy PRIEST, m. Elizabeth UNKNOWN.

Edward DINGLEY (1831 - 1900), parents Ira DINGLEY & Elizabeth UNKNOWN, married Matilda JOHNSON

Lucy and Ira (1789) , Edward's grandfather, are siblings. Therefore, Lucy is Edward's great-aunt.

Aaron JOHNSON & Lucy DINGLEY are Matilda's grandparents.

So Edward and Matilda are 1st cousins once removed.
Some mistakes are too much fun
to only make once.

Yes, there is one more known relationship between the Dingleys and Johnsons: my Great Uncle James Dingley (1781). So there are at least three Dingley - Johnson connections. My Great Aunt Lucy Dingley (1780 - 1857), and descendants of my Great Uncle James Dingley (1781), and my Great Uncle Ira Dingley (1789 - 1864) [all children of William Dingley (Abt 1855) and Nancy (Ann) Priest (Abt 1759)] all married Johnsons.

I am hoping one of the descendants of both James and Lucy would do it for me. And also possibly a descendant of Lucy would have some more information. I have just informed them about the site and perhaps they will join.

I was waiting a bit in case the descendant of Benjamin Johnson 1919 (Des.ofmy Gr Aunt Lucy Dingley) and Minnie Briton 1918 (Des.of my great Uncle James Dingley) joined the group, but having had no response I did start to add them, but see that somebody beat me to it!! Their child (Benjamin and Minnie's) is its own 5th cousin once removed by the way. and either my 4th cousin once Removed (Jame's line) or 4th cousin twice Removed (lucy's line).

I will check later to see if Lucy's other living descendant's line is on the tree.
