In 1861 the couple were living in Hasbury. By 1871 Elizabeth was incarcerated in Broadmoor, and by 1881 she was in Woking Womens Prison for the criminally insane. I think that she spent the next 20 years there. I would like to know why she was committed. A researcher has been unable to find anything at Kew which I find strange. However, that being so, I wonder if it is possible to find anything relating to this in the records of the Worcester Assizes. Would it be likely that she could be committed purely on the say of a local doctor, or would her committal be the result of a court case ?
This really is my major brick wall
