Just joined the forum but have been researching my family history since 2004. Have hit a number of brick walls but have also had some brilliant breakthroughs. Its a great feeling when you have been searching for ages and then find something amazing like a will, a court record, a newspaper article, or even a photograph that you've never seen before thats been lurking in a family album somewhere.
I'm not just into acquiring names and dates, but love researching the social history side and hope to visit all the places my ancestors lived and worked. I have designed and built my own website to display some of my findings http://www.fallenleaves.co.uk, and for those that are interested I will be placing a list of the surnames I am researching on the appropriate thread shortly.
