Can't find them in 1841 census on findmypast. Also not sure about the marriage to Martha Davis in Moreton Corbet - seems to be quite far away from Church Stretton. What do you think?

Think the 1807 birth is the right one as Cardington appears in 1851 &1871 censuses as his birthplace

If 1807 is his birth year then 1821 seems too young for a marriage. Of course, he could have been older when christened. Don't see how sending for a certificate would help, unless it gives ages? Since he is not actually a kinsman I shall leave it at that.
