*NL Look Up Done* ------William Yardley

Post by Pudsey to Howard »

Hi

Moving off the Dimmocks for a moment [not really this is linked to them].

Have Samuel Yardley & Mary Nicklin as parents of Diane [spouse of William Dimmock].

Now, according to IGI [extracted] C093921, Samuel & Mary had a son William christened 7/1/1806 at Particular Baptist, Cradley, Worcester, England

William may link to:

Please discuss.

The family above lived at Dudley Wood Mushroom, not Cradley, they only worshipped at Cradley, so Mary born 1808 that you have on BCC was actually born Dudley Wood. Where did you find the Baptism of Diana 1810, I can't find it :?: Are you sure Diana is connected to this Samuel and Mary there is no mention of her with the rest of the children at Cradley Baptist Chapel :?: I don't think they link to the Wm and Maria in the link you posted, they were a different family from Quarry Bank and not Baptists. Charles Yardley and family I think link to Samuel, Charles was a Deacon of the Baptist Chapel Cradley and his family are all listed in the Register. HTH from Linell.

Hi NL there are actually two Samuel Yardley's listed in the Members List for Cradley Chapel.

Samuel Yardley Dudley Wood bap 1809 May 9 (he was probably an adult by then, to be listed as a Member.)
Samuel Yardley Mushroom bap 22 Nov 17
James Yardley CH bap 1827 Nov 25
Mary Yardley CH bap 1827 Dec 25 (could be wife of James)
Elizabeth Yardley CH bap 1833 March 3 (think she is wife of Charles will add link.)

These children of Samuel and Mary are all grouped together on the page, so one family:-

Martha da of Samuel and Mary Yardley born 14.8.1804
Wm son of Samuel and Mary born 7.1.1806
Mary da of Samuel and Mary born 20.2.1808
Fanny da Samuel and Mary born 9.9.1814
Ann da of Samuel and Mary born 9.12.1816
Rosannah da of Samuel and Mary born 4.4.1822
Esther da of Samuel and Mary born 14.8.1826

On the next page is Samuel so of Samuel and Mary Yardley born 1824 July 17 (I presume this is the same couple :?: )
Meriah d of Charles and Elizabeth Yardley born 1834 June 27
Charles son of Charles and Elizabeth Yardley born 1835 Nov 12
Sarah d of Charles and Elizabeth Yardley born 1827 Aug 13
Elizabeth d of Charles and Elizabeth Yardley born1829 Nov 12

There's a letter head in the Register signed by Charles Yardley Deacon.

There's a burial for Esther Yardley 1823 aged 3 d of Samuel and Mary she seems to be the eldest so Married about 1822.
The name Esther must be significant as they had two Esthers.

It is more likely that Samuel and Charles and maybe James Yardley are all brothers, they are the only Yardley's in the Cradley Baptist Register, one family I would think. I don't think they are any connection to Wm and Maria from Quarry Bank. Linell.

Yes NL connect up Rosannah. There are also Weaver's in the Cradley Register, will check them out and get back to you. Think they connect to me. I have Baptist Weavers. Diana must be from a completely different family. Linell.

Lin can we just clarify this Esther

There's a burial for Esther Yardley 1823 aged 3 d of Samuel and Mary

so one is born about 1820 but no record yet burial

and then one b 1826

Hi NL, Martha seems to be the eldest born 1804. It could be two lots of Samuel and Mary's? Need to check for two Marriages.

I see Thomas and Rosannah had a Diana. Funny how these families all seem to be from Mushroom Green, the Dimmocks lived there too, so could be a connection.

Hi NL, yes I noticed that I suppose that Esther No 1 born about 1820 was maybe Registered at another Baptist Chapel. Not all of Charles and Elizabeth's children are in the Cradley Register either. Linell.
