Hi
Doing a search of the IGI t'other day - put in an ancestors name & their father's name.
The results came up & I clicked on the appropriate name and it had details of a marriage at St Edmund's, Dudley, Worcester, England. The batch number was I023017 - there's none of the usual extracted or submitted stuff on it - checked on Hugh Wallis site which indicates the I series are all LDS patron submitted or church member related batches and so not part of the Controlled Extraction Program.
We can't treat this information as gospel but it may provide some guidance to overcoming some brickwalls - the records date from 1846 to 1869 - particularly as it gives the bride & groom's fathers names.

Re: IGI - I series
I have to say that I have seen these and to be honest I do use them
and verify via look up
but everyone from this church that I have done has been good info
so although it doesn't say the words extracted ie taken from PR
it is taken from there by as you say someone putting that batch no together.
Personally if I see the actual word submitted I don't take it as info I can use unless I can verify it
I can add to notes but not as gospel.
But the other ones in those batches ..ie st emunds and the rowley regis ones
if no word submitted I do tend to use
and where possible verify.
