Thanks again...yes I did mean1934 for the death of Edward , Peter-i lost a century with all this excitement!-So glad I didnt wreck your "Casualty" mathsgirl! Thanks graingers14 for the 1901 find-Raywood eh?
Think youre correct about the Nellie/Arthur issue Peter...will check at Worcs archives next visit............although there are so many haywoods at Rochford at this time, including the usual problem of cousins marrying and same first name being replicated , that they take some untangling!
Thanks for finding Mary's place of birth, a mystery until now. Guess her marriage remains a "brick wall"...
(completed)marriage of haywood & Broomfield

Re: marriage of haywood & Broomfield
O.k....a summary.............this is the last straw I'm clutching....
I now know that mary ann broomfield was born c. 1883 at Cotesbatch, leics, where i can find no other Broomfields. her parents were John & Susan born c. 1850 in Surrey.(Shamley Green & Compton.) John was a gamekeeper.
In 1891 they are living in Churchover, Warks.
In 1901 Mary is 18 and a servant in Dunchurch,Warks.
Edward is still single in 1901.
In 1904 they are a t Rochford Worcs where they have a son, Wilfred,
Edward is buried at Rochford
mary dies in jan 1940 of a cerebral haemorrage. her death is registered by her unmarried son Edward. She is buried in Catshill churchyard, Bromsgrove.
She is recorded as Bromfield on one occasion, he as Raywood.
any explanation as to why i cant find this marriage.....

A person should have an opinion on everything, It becomes tact whether you reveal that opinion or not.

Re: marriage of haywood & Broomfield
Hi helpers!
No-dont get excited-havent found the marriage, but may have an answer to the distance query...Found Mary broomfields parents-John the gamekeeper Broomfield and his wife Susan Tubb(S) were gamekeeping in Sutton,Tenbury Wells, not too far from Rochford, whilst their daughter was in sevice at Dunchurch, Warks in 1901...maybe she visited mumand dad and fell in love with the blacksmith....
peter-birth certs arrived for nellie and Arthur, and yes the times were written on them. In the past birth certs have been pinkish in colour. These werent. is this because they could be still births? I'll investigate the death ones next from the details kindly posted..
thanks all...guess this can go to archives now..really appreciate the time and help everyone on this site freely gives...if no one else tells you today-you're great!
....told you it was a brick wall!
