*Arc tbc* --George Briggs 1872/73 New Shildon Duham Dead end

I seemed to have hit a brick wall and not sure where to go next.
I have a Marr Cert for George Briggs & Elizabeth Airey Married 14/08/1902 NewShildon Durham.
Geo aged 29 widower, gardner, 17 Kilburn St, Father John Briggs Farmer. Elizabeth Aged 25 Spinster 19 Kilburn St, Father William Airey Engine Driver.
I can not find Geo birth to obtain Birth Cert Cant find Kilburn St on Census 1901, no prev marriage for Geo. Geo apparetly died in ww1 but looked up CWCG - nothing. Tried to look for John and as you can imagine thats a needle in a haystack John the farmer in Durham....Pls can anyone help

who were the witness on marriage cert ?

might be the 1869 one


also a george edward briggs born bishop auckland that a few miles from shildon and possible in bishop registation area
