Hello from Ayrshire

Post by KayM »

Hi everybody.
I've been researching the family tree since July and am completely hooked! I love finding relations, even distant ones by marriage etc.
My father's family were from Staffordshire, Yorkshire and Gloucester and Fife. My mother's from Aberdeen and Dumfries. Not quite sure how I ended up in Ayrshire.
Biggest excitement so far was finding out my husband's ancestors lived on the same miners' row as my ancestors in 1881!
Cheers

Malosa, Rolinson is my maiden name and is spelt lots of different ways. Rolieson, Rowlinson, Rollison etc I've even found it recorded as Robertson! And yes they are from Dudley, Bentley, Walsall.

Today I found a whole new tribe of Yates from Dudley. Abraham Yates married my great great grandfather's sister Ann Rolinson possibli in 1843 and they all (or nearly all) moved to Ayrshire too! This will keep me busy for a few days/weeks! :P
