His father was also a Criminal who was transported!
Does anyone know if it would be possible to find out any more detail about William's crime?

Inerestingly Ancestry has,
Worcester, 2nd March 1875, William Almond Cotterell, Embezzlement, 8 calendar months hard labourer

Depending upon where William Almond Cotterell was living at the time the case may have been reported in the local newspaper.

Grangers14 is correct. Oops, I'm afraid I made a typing error, a very dangerous mistake when researching. :)
William lived in Worcestershire.

Thank you for the link. I can't believe I didn't think to check the newspapers. Doh!
