Bye...over and out...

Post by MarkCDodd »

I spend a lot of time helping people on here and other boards/sites.

Never before have my efforts resulted in personal attacks.

I do this for fun.

When it stops being fun then I will look elsewhere.

Why the hell somebody want to continually attack what I post is beyond me.

And to send abusive personal messages is beyond low.

Hi Mark,

I would ignore it if I was you, or name and shame the culprit.

Hi Mark,
I'm sure people do appreciate your help. Lots of people help, lots of great ideas and thoughts get bounded about to try and reach a good conclusion. I think thats what makes a great team.
I don't know what has been said but may be it has been taken the wrong way? Sometimes its very hard to explain yourself over the computer, rather than face to face.
Dont be hasty and leaving, I'm sure we can sort things out.
Jo :)

I tend not to have to step into arguments too often as a) we very rarely have any here on the forum and b) we have a great group of mods to keep things under control for me. Nothing that has been posted publically on the forum itself causes me to think there's any real issue here - it appears on the surface to just be a difference of opinions on how people go about their research. However, I don't and won't read people's personal messages except in the most extreme of circumstances, so things may have been said "behind the scenes" which I won't be party to unless a user chooses to make me aware of it.

So, just to reiterate, anything posted on the forum should be polite, civilsed and suitable for an audience of all ages. If any member ever considers another members posts or PMs to be anything other than this, please do the following:

Forum posts - above each post, there's an inverted triangle containing an exclamation mark. Clicking this will report the post to me. Do this and I will personally assess whether the post is acceptable within the context of the site. Anything I consider doesn't fit with the spirit of the forum will be immediately removed. Anyone repeatedly posting content causing justifiable complaints will be warned and then banned either temporarily or permanently.

Personal Messages - click "Forward" within the personal message and send it to admin. I'll then assess the post in a similar manner to the above.

We have a great forum with a fantastic group of members who do an immense amount of work helping others. So, everyone, please help to keep things that way - even if that means biting your tongue or turning the other cheek sometimes :-)

Okay...I have retrieved my dummy and am back.

Bet you missed me for the last 20 hours :)

I am a fairly thick skinned individual but I am on fairly strong drugs to control my Narcolepsy.

If you catch me at the wrong time I can be a bit like Eeyore the donkey or Marvin the Paranoid Android.

Other times I am likely to rip your head off and ask you to repeat what you just said, which is a bit hard when headless. (One Great Family know what I mean...)

So just treat me like your senile old dog that is not a cute as he used to be, can't fetch the ball anymore and occasionally farts under the dinner table.

Ok...

Pass Wind? Fluff Off? Do a whoopsie? Flatulate? None of them sound as good.
