Locked churches

Post by Northern Lass »

Went to a church today to get a photograph for BCC photos and it was locked :(
I understand why they lock them due to vandalism and probably other activities
but I can remember when you could just walk into a church and sit and it was a lovely
experience.
I am not a religious person but I can appreciate the calm tranquility gained from these marvellous buildings.
It is such a shame that you can't just walk in, sit a while and enjoy the silence and surroundings.

Are Churches near you open all the time?

No our Churches are not open all the time, they used to be like yours and I agree it was lovely just to pop in and sit for a while and say a little prayer , really peaceful and relaxing. :(

The Churches are locked round here too, too much was stolen from them.
Shame.
