Hi Bob, I have that list too, but the trouble is how do we know Benjamin wasn't out of the Country for any period of time Emigrated or fighting a War somewhere Need to find a Benjamin of the right age who says he was born in West Bromwich. As Pete says you really need to search the Scottish Records, something that will give you Benjamin's place of birth rather than just England. HTH from Linell.

Hello . I do not know the area very well but when Jane Clive was in West Bromwich in 1891 She was within a mile of where Thomas and Phoebe lived in 1871 .

Well that is very encouraging news Bob, what a good find, so yes it probably is Benjamin from Wednesbury. BUT I still think you really need one more piece of evidence, that the Benjamin with Jane Clive was born Wednesbury/West Bromwich. I don't know anything about Civil Registration in Scotland. Peterd will be along later, he may have some ideas. Other than that it may be useful to join a Scottish Forum and ask them the best way forward. Let us know how you get on, best wishes from Linell.

Please excuse the delay in replying but I have searched for Benjamin Willetts son of Thomas and Phoebe but cannot find him after1871 and before he reappears in Scotland in 1901.I suspect that the two may well be the same because I have located Jane Clive in 1891 living close to Benjamins parents 1871 house. Thomas and Phoebe lived on the Dudley Road Wednesbury close to its junction with Holyhead Road . Jane was living in Walsall Street , West Bromwich, which is about a mile away. With her is Mary Ellen Clive who was born in Scotland.

Hello I have been looking at the alternate LDS site and it has marriages for England 1700 to 1900 . There are three Benjamin Willetts Marriages that show up , one of interest is Benjamin Willetts married Eliza Lebond in 1893 in Walsall, Staffs. Maybe the Lodger on the Census living with Joseph. I wonder if he is with Eliza in 1901.

Hi Bob, this is a list of all the Benjamin Willetts in England 1901, born between 1845 and 1865. None of them were born in West Brom, a couple from Dudley, one from Cradley Heath, one from Halesowen, one of them is in Hospital in Walsall and one is in Prison in Birmingham. I don't think any of them are Benjamin the son of Thomas and Phoebe. But this is only an England search The Marriage you found in 1893 to an Eliza didn't come up in the search, maybe that Benjamin was born after 1865 What about Benjamin's Death in Scotland, was there an Obituary in the Local Paper do you know Here is the list for 1901:-
