Hi,
If you find a name in the criminal register on Ancestry is there any further checks that can be done to confirm if the person named in register is the person you are looking for? Just a name, offence, sentence and area does not proove it is the right person, can this be taken any further to confirm person address or anything else to give a true identity?
Thanks
Paul.

Re: Criminal Registers
Read the trial transcripts. The Ancestry index is just a summary.
Also, check the newspapers.
Quite often the Newspaper will mention the persons occupation and even address.
I have found the local papers in both Australia and England to be full of trial details.
