*Completed.............*Hit that wall!

Post by Paul-E »

Hi,

WILLIAM TEAL ABT 1816 CRADLEY, WORCESTERSHIRE, ENGLAND.
Death: 1859

I am having difficulty finding any info prior 1836 marriage (IGI M021371 Claines Worcester England) I also have 1851 census (Trinity, St Martins, Worcester) on William Teal (or Taall as listed in census)

I have the birth cert of one of Williams sons (Robert Harvey Teal) However on the certificate fathers name is also ROBERT HARVEY TEAL

I have searched high and low for both names: William Teal BORN ABT 1816 CRADLEY WORCESTERSHIRE and also Robert Harvey Teal Including the surname TAAL

I sent off for copy of Parish Marriage Record hoping the two who witnessed marriage might give me something to go on but it turns out one was Charlottes (Williams wife) brother and his girlfriend later to be his wife.

Cannot find anything on Williams Baptism on IGI. I am at a complete standstill!

Any recommendations anyone can suggest I should try to move on would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks

Paul

If I contacted Worcester Library & History Centre with just the name William Teal and approx DOB of 1816 would they search Cradley records for me or would that not be enough information for them to go on?

Also, I have tried searching for on-line and cd parish records for Cradley Worcestershire, but no joy at all! If anyone can recommend a site, cd or book that would be appreciated.

The trouble is Paul that they might not have been bapt or in another church

there are transcribed records you can buy
here
http://www.bmsgh.org/bookshop/worc/wo_c.html

CRADLEY CHAPEL (fiche)
(Now St Peter's Parish Church)
Bapts 1785-1839, Mar. 1802-1839, Bur. 1785-1844, Banns 1801-1838 £2.30 £2.80

M103 CRADLEY (fiche)
Baptist 1783-1837 £2.30 £2.80
M104 CRADLEY (fiche)

Park Lane Presbyterian Church
Bapts 1735-1837 inc. a few burials

I would think that the archives at Dudley where this lot are at for viewing ( not sure if Worcs have cradley ) would charge their research fee

Thanks NorthernLass

I will order those records to see if anything relevant there.

As I say I searched IGI but no joy and you may be right that he may not of been christened or if he was it may of been somewhere else. I suppose by checking the records I'm hoping for some kind of lead, although I do realise this may turn nothing up.

I am a distance from Dudley and cannot get there in person to do a search, so all I have to rely on at the moment is records I find on-line or cd's or books on-line that I can order.

Thanks
Paul

Paul I can look for info at Dudley and Sandwell/Smethwick if you post under the look ups section we have

BUT I need to go straight to the record
so need day, month year church names
or if after civil regis this site is good and gives you the
year, church and the actual entry number ( the last no on that ref no)

But I don't have time to search without the above parameters soz...

so if you ever just need a marriage looked up and you have the above then post and I will do my best to help

http://www.bmsgh.org/index.html

go to west midlands on that site and have a look

where are you based
cos there are the Family search outlets too
you can hire films from them

 You know for ages now members of the family wondered why a few children down the generations were given the middle name BLOOMER. I think 3 generations have the middle name Bloomer infact my Ggrandad was James BLOOMER Teal........my wife has been on about trying for another baby......should I carry the Bloomer tradition on

It all looks very promising thanks. Things certainly look right. I'll go through it thoroughly as I can.

Many many thanks everyone

Paul.
