Re: Parents of John Redfern b1843
I'm not sure where this subject began - or why - and I'm very new to the Forum so please forgive any errors. I haven't checked every detail against my files but it seems to match OK.
I've spent a great deal of time researching this subject as it is my own direct patrilineal line and starting with me it goes as follows:
John Redfern: 1946 John Redfern: 1913 William Redfern: 1889 William Redfern: 1858 Joseph Redfern: 1832 Joseph Redfern: 1802
I have paper certificates for quite a lot of the births and marriages and have researched it also through LDS Archives, Other Parish Records, Ancestry and Family paperwork and conversations/diaries.
They did all live on Turner's Hill - cheek by jowel - a common thing at one time of course, with many others in the family in the Village, Dudley Road, and Portway in its various names. John later lived in various properties in Rowley Village and the last record I have of him is at 26 Rowley Village, aged 68, a widow but 2 daughters - Ann Maria and Phoebe - still at home.
His parents were Joseph ( b.1802) and Maria Priest who were married in Tipton in July 1827. Her birth is given as 1801.
