If you are on 'Pay as you Go' it costs 10 credits for transcription
and 30 credits for Original census view. I called up an original census
last night .....and they charged another 30 credits this morning.
So make certain you save everything.

Hope you got your 30 credits back , they are expensive enough without being charged twice.

No...It states in the rules that if you close down your computer
even for a short time , unless the item has been 'saved' you
have to pay again !! Even if it during the same 'Pay as you go'
credit time. Bit of a 'Rip Off' really.

It is a rip off then  , on the 1911 site it saves the one's you have viewed and you look at them when ever you want.

If you add the 1911 census to your Find My Past subscription then it is ecxellent value as long as you intend to use more than 12 census returns over a 6 month period.

Otherwise, pay as you go.

I have already used 30 1911 cenus returns to expand my tree this week, so the subscription was a bargain.

I do not think Ancestry will have it this year.

Just had this in a news letter from FIndmy Past.com
We're delighted to let you know final preparations are underway, and the 1911 Census will be available online on the findmypast.com website from October 21, 2009 .
Until now, the census has only been available using PayAsYouGo credits on our sister site 1911census.co.uk. We are now going to make it available as a new subscription package on findmypast.com, to allow you to search the records at your leisure.

I also read that Ancestry were putting to gain access to it too. Apparently it will be available after 6 months for negotiations to others.

This is what I posted the other week.
So they have added a bit earlier than stated? I think I will see who else gets a contract for it.
Jo :)

Does anyone know if you are restricted to so many images if you takw out a subscription just for the 1911 census , or can you search and look at as many as you want.
