I think just to confuse matters that Mother in law was used loosely as was son in law to mean step son etc - I certainly have someone who is obviously the Great Uncle being designated a Grandfather - so aunts sister could come under that heading too.

if you break it down it could be mothers in law ie mothers sister, aunt, etc as father inlaw could be fathers brother, uncle etc there understanding of english wasnt the greatest even if they could read and write
A person should have an opinion on everything, It becomes tact whether you reveal that opinion or not.

thanks guys will now flag to archive have added the marriage details and connected up
leaving it with George as father and that then agrees with marriage look up and census
as has been said it prob is an error on that later census and should say Emma sis in law

without getting that birth cert I dont know
