Not sure if I used the right term in the heading. But what I was wondering is, is anybody aware of any central records (available to the general public) anywhere of the consecutive owners of any given property? For example 20 Orchard Street, Middletown....who was the first owner of that property, then who was it sold on to afterwards and so on......?

Re: Old House Deeds
You might get some information from the Land Registry. I know you can get hold of boundary plans (had to do this when our neighbour reckoned we'd built on his land, but that's another story).
