Somewhere in my surfing the Net I 'chanced' to come across the following description of linkages for some of our BC families, and I wondered if we could confirm them enough to be added to the tree. I've done a little searching on BC Connections and Ancestry and added my findings in red.

That's a great find Di. I have the Hingley/Sidaway links, but not the Worrall/Mallen/Chance ones. I just realised that I do not have the Marriage Witnesses for the Marriage of Ann Worral and Barzillia Hingley, just wondered if there may have been a Worrall or Mallen Witness. Barzillia and Ann Married at Clent 15.5.1831, does anyone have the Clent PR's please? Many thanks from Linell.

Dunno ... we might have two separate families here ... The John and Mary in the 1841 census are not old enough to be parents of these three.
This christening for Anne Worrall fits our Ann well for both time and place. Now is there an Eliza to these Brierley Hill Worralls? Or is "ELIZH." her?

At Orchard Lane, Lye, Worcs.
George Mallen Head 27 M .... Farmer b. Worcs., Lye
Eliza Mallen Wife 23 b. Worcs., Lye
Fanney Ells Visitor 19 seems to say under occupation "dau"?? b. London

1871
At The Gutter, Bellbroughton, Worcestershire
George Mallen Head 37 Shopkeeper b. Worcs., Lye
Eliza Mallen Wife 33 Ditto b. Worcs., Stourbridge
Blanche Mallen Daur 3 Scholar b. Worcs., Bellbroughton
George Worrall Nephew 12 Scholar b. Staffs., Brettle Lane
Alice Willes Niece 10 Scholar b. Staffs., Quarry Bank

1881
At Yew Tree Farm, Bromsgrove
George Mallen Head 46 Farmer of 87 acres employing 2 labourers b. Worcs., Lye
Elisa Mallen Wife 43 Farmer's wife b. Worcs., Stourbridge
Blanche Mallen Daur 13 Scholar b. Worcs., Madeley Heath
George Mallen Son 9 Scholar b. Worcs., Madeley Heath
Albert Smith 18 Farm servant indoor b. Worcs., Day House Bank

This certainly looks like the Eliza Worrall who married George Mallen and, but I can't see her at present being the sister of Ann Worrall who married Barzillai Hingley and who is the mother of Alfred Eli Hingley. Seems way too young.

So the connection relies on this:

"Alfred Eli HINGLEY is the son of Ann WORRALL - http://bcconnections.tribalpages.com/tr ... =363094151
Ann WORRALL is the sister of Eliza WORRALL (can't confirm this as yet - anyone?)
Eliza WORRALL is the wife of George MALLEN (m. 1855 St. Andrew, Netherton)"

Which, at present, seems unlikely. Possibly both Ann and Eliza have parents John & Mary, but a different John & Mary.

I have the same Skelding/ Plant/ Fradgley etc connections, but there seem a lot of children to the above couple - are we dealing with two William Skelding/Catherine families?

I am a decendant of the Chances.
Job Chance was born 1839 Oldswinford and died 1907 Korumburra Australia he married Mary Little on 23 Dec 1860 St Mary Kingswinford.
Elijah Chance was born 1864 and died 1942 Yallourn Australia.
I will get round to adding the Chances but am rushed off my feet at the moment and there are hundreds of them. I can go back to 1615 with Robert Chance who married Ann Underhill

Great, Kaye! I think the Chance/Worrall to Hingley/Worrall connection through Ann & Eliza Worrall is disproved rather than proved. What do you think?
