I know what you mean, my mother went to watch the chainmaker down in Mushrooom Green and promptly told him it was obvious he'd never made chain for a living as his wrist wasn't slack enough.......... But as she'd spent enough years watching her mother and aunts doing it I suppose she knew what she was talking about.
Been in bonny Scotland Rob. Beautiful mountains, smooth roads, loveky sunshine, lots of distillaries to visit and single malts to sample.... unfortunately I was driving Came back just before the rains started and Rothes flodded
Hi all, I had a look at the BC Museum Web Site:- http://www.bclm.co.uk/ I thought Sunday the 4th of October would be a good day to go, they have a traditional Harvest Festival that day in the Chapel. I also heard that there is a Cradley Heritage Display on at the moment, not sure how long it is running for, with photo's and books etc. Hopefully that will still be running on the 4th October. The Museum is open from 10.00 - 5.00 so I thought maybe we could all meet up at the front entrance about 11.00 pm, give everyone a chance to get there. There is a large Car Park, so no worries about finding somewhere to park. Perhaps we can all wear our BC T-Shirts so we stand out from the crowd, for those who do not have one perhaps you could carry a picture of a hammer or some such tool, any ideas on that suggestion would be welcome Best Wishes from Linell.
Forgot to say that Sp1 said he would kindly enquire about discount for block bookings, so if we can get a list of who can definitelty come we can get an idea of how much it will cost. Cheers from Linell.
Nice one Linell It would be great if we could all wear the T/Shirt wouldn't it? Fortunately, earlier this year I paid about £12 entry and had it 'Gift Aided' so I can go as many times as I like within the 12 months
Jan! You WILL be coming, won't you????
If you would like to have your ancestors photo's included in our Gallery, please send me a pm.
