Well we have the family in 1861/1871/1881/1891 but no indication as why Sarah started as Roberts with father Joseph Jewkes and ended up on Marriage as Roberts with father as Joseph Roberts but was Sarah Jewkes all the rest of the time.

She also appears to be too young to have been his wife's daughter - is this the clue?

She is down as dau age 14 so surely she wouldnt be if not his dau

I found several Sarah Carter s at about the right time but just one Sarah Elizabeth Jewkes - could be expensive for certificates - is there likely to be any baptisms that could help narrow down the quarter?

hmmm lots of Sarah Roberts too
I think she is a Roberts with being married as one
and age 4 on census as one

not sending for lots of certifs it was only if one stood out would think about it
