"To be Archived in24hrs TBC "Print your tree

Post by Acorna »

Hi All

Has anyone successfully printed a large family tree using 'Listing Paper' and a 'Standard Printer'?

By this I mean the paper that comes joined in one large box, perforated. By standard printer I mean any desktop injet.

Thanks
Ray

OK, no luck with that then. How do you all print your trees? Just use A4 and stick them together?

I too want to know this for the Black Country Connections tree
when I had just 1,ooo on my own tree I used a normal printer and stuck them all together.

But with over 30,000 ancestors in our tree now I need to get a professional company that will print it off
maybe at 50,000 stage

Ray,
I used to do this when I had a much older printer and continuous paper was the usual type used. Reunion on my Mac would do it fine, but I had to fiddle a lot with the layout to get it to fit the correct height of image to fit on the paper.
Some mistakes are too much fun
to only make once.

Thanks for the replies all. Looks like I'll have to get an old dot matrix printer or lots of tape.

Local printers charge a fortune so wont be using them. :(

Ray, hullo there,

I've just joined and this is my first post. I thought it might have been on other tacks but never mind.

Long ago (it seems) I decided to do my own 'trees' in Microsoft Publisher, and, with the recent acquisition of an A3 Printer (A3 = double A4), I have the capacity. I also acquired an A3 Scanner so I can copy. I think for me they are becoming necessary tools.

I do other stuff needing the A3 equipment so it all gets well used and has been worth the outlay.

Best Wishes,

James.
