Can anyone tell me if when a man remarries in 1929 after divorce should this show on the marriage certificate.

Many Thanks

To my understanding nowadays that would count as his "marital status" - whether there has been a change in law since 1929 I don't know

There is always the point that the registrar can only trust and record what they are told - if they are told single/widowed then...-

It does sound like a lot of money for a piece of paper - can you tell me what the 10 year look up is as I have never heard of it before

:?: Sorry to be full of questions but if he remarried in 1929 why are you going from 1923 to 1933 and not 1919 to 1929 - or do they only start on years that end in 3?

The last entry on the divorce papers was Dec 1922 so it was not issued before that and I welcome any questions you may have

Hi TT

Ancestry seem to have divorce records. You could try posting a look up, or if you don't want all and sundry to see the names you could ask if someone will do a look up for you via pm's.

I would , but not subscribed. You can use ancestry in library for free, if you can get on pc as kids are on hols at the moment,
