What a lovely idea to create something lasting for your family:

I need to explain that I am new to all this and a bit lost at present. My information came mainly from an aunt who worked for Henrietta Walker (her aunt) at the pub when needed. I am trying to put a family tree together for my children and grandchildren which is why I joined. Do you know of a similar genealogy site for the Cannock (Staffs) area? My father's side is from that area, Cheslyn Hay, to be precise.

As you are new to this I can understand that all this information is very overwhelming so may I make a couple of suggestions:
1) you certainly need to get the information from the various possible marriages that have been found starting with the most recent that we are sure that fits - ie Fanny Elizabeth Brown and Thomas Onions

2) Concentrate on one side of the family at a time (don't get too carried away with your father's side until you have a clearer picture of your mother's. From the scribbles I have done we seem to have more info on the Brown's side which could mean more confusing - it might be easier to start with the Onions as they seem to be less involved.

Whichever you choose go through this post and write down all the info collected that is directly relevant and try to produce time lines and links to see who moves into (ie births and marriages)the family groups and who leaves (ie deaths and marriages) write down questions and perhaps start a new thread eg Just Onions.

Hope that helps and doesn't just confuse the situation more
