Mary Ann Cox 19 Spinster Living Cradley Father Edward Shivard/Shivond/Steward ?(Hard to read) Miner

Can anyone find Mary Ann Cox born abt 1840 before she married?

Hi Kaye, sorry no I don't. I had a look on the 1851 for Cradley, nothing obvious there, will check the 1841 and get back to you, best wishes from Linell.

Hi Kaye, no I don't think Redditch either, these Cradley families of ours didn't move far did they, if you discount the ones that emigrated or went north to Barrow! I suppose she was born Mary Ann Sh........then her mother re-married to a Cox? Is that how you read it? Linell.

Hi Kaye, I think this is her:-
1841 Colley Lane
Wm Cox Nailer 55
Ann 55
Lucinda 20
Ann 1

1851 Colley Lane
Nancy Cox HD W 67 Huckster Halesowen
Ann GD 10 Cradley

I checked the Vicar's Notebook for 1857. He says Wm Bloomer then aged 21 has two amats M Bills and Emily Haden. Think he may have been confused as his sister Mary Married a Bills, so M Bills could be his sister? Father Issac is dead, his mother is Lucy a Nailer and Lame, nee Cox, could she be the Lucinda above? There's something really odd about this family, somehow the Bloomers/Coxes and Bills I feel are all connected. Needs more investigation. Best Wishes from Linell.

Hi Kaye, Lucy Cox mother of Wm was born abt. 1814, so she is not Lucinda Cox aged 20 in 1841. This Lucinda must be Ann or Mary Ann's mother, can't find a Marriage for her. Did she Marry or move in with Edward Sh...........? Will keep searching, Linell.

Oh well done Kaye, that's brilliant, you did well finding that, what a relief, ok forget my Lucy and Ann Cox's obviously another family, so Mary Ann never lived in Cradley until she Married :!: Thanks for letting me know, best wishes from Linell.
