Hi everyone,
In researching my mum's side of the family I cam across a GRO death index for her elder brother who was registered at dying at the age 0 (zero) in 1911.
When I looked at the page generally I was horrified to see that 25 to 30% of the deaths were registered at age 0. A lot of them were also old people.
Does anyone know if something abnormal happened that year. I have checked the internet for clues but can only find a cholera pandemic in 1911 but that didn't appear to hit this country.
Any ideas?
Regards
Peter

That was 1918 NL, not heard of any disasters in 1911
