*Arc* -Hacketts to find a connection to on BCC

Post by Maths girl »

I've got all sorts from round Old Hill area but the nearest link in I've found on BCC is with Benjamin Shakespeare (1894) who married Elsie Hackett (1895).

He was son of John Shakespeare and Mary Ann Allen while she was daughter of Tom Hackett and Ann Rebecca Crumpton.

(note from NL topic split to run with here)

I have split this post off as I am really interested to find out how Mg's Hacketts link to the ones on BCC
and I cant find a way in!

none of the following are on BCC but they must connect

Elsie Hackett b 1895 ish
father Thomas Hackett b 1864
father Josiah Hackett b 1826
father James Hackett b 1801

think that is the line Mg has

so can we find a connection to ours :?

we can add to this one then

and Jimmy you got a cousin!

NL

Does that mean they couldn't read it when they wrote the Bishop's copy?

No wonder we have problems

I have Josiah on 1841 & 1851 Census so that is obviously what they intended.

Whole family were Nailers.

It just says that
"any significant differences between our transcription of the BT's and the transcript of the original registers have been notes as [OR t/s]"

so I understand that to mean they have the transcript of the Bishop transcripts and the Original registers transcript and compared and any differences thrown up

but a Josiah would look like a Jonah I do enough look ups to see that the Jonah could have been misread the s and I for an n
So vol 4 has got it correct they put Josiah

but because of the damage to the Rowley Regis ones it is all we have
:(

They are worth buying if you you have a few from RRegis and very very interesting
