BLACKHEATH

Fatal Accident to a Publican -
On Tuesday Mr E Hooper Coroner, held an inquest at The Handel Hotel, Blackheath, relative to the death of Stephen Rollinson (42) beerhouse - keeper of No 83 Oldbury Road, Blackheath, who was fatally injured on Thursday last by being thrown out of a trap. Enoch Hadley, rivet maker, of Causeway Green, said he met the deceased in Birmingham; they had been at several public - houses on their drive home.
Witness drove the trap the whole of the time, When they got near to Langley Green he ran into a wagon. He did not see the wagon until he had run into it as it was dark. Both he and his friend were thrown out, and the trap was upset. As soon as he came to himself he found the deceased lying in the road in an unconscious state, and he could see that he was badly injured. Witness and the deceased were both sober.
Witness went to see the deceased on Sunday, but he was dead.

The jury returned a verdict of "Accidental Death"
