Re: What was that song......
Oh my life ladies
Bob Marley has taken me back to the late 1960s at a disco which was up some stairs by the Birmingham Ice Rink with the reggae music which I loved. Happy happy memories

Re: What was that song......
Sorry to be pedantic but back in the 60's we didn't call it Reggae it was Ska or Rocksteady. As Kids we first came into contact with it around the Balsall Heath area where the local Rastas introduced us to it. This would be around 1966 the golden year when we won The Jules Rimet and other exciting tings bredder.
Oh and another thing thats not strictly speaking,to me anyway, 10CC. Its Graham Gouldman pretending, Wheres Godley Creme and Stewart?
And after listening to Bob Marley Mally its 10CC as well !! Can we be more acurate when posting please ? Most confusing!!

Re: What was that song......
You are being very pedantic Roboe. I was too young to remember Ska or Rocksteady which were in the late 1950s so to me it's Reggae music being in the late 1960s as I have already said. Still prefer Bob Marley's version.
Oh boy what a day to remember, me, my brothers and Mom & Dad were all fixed around the telly when England won the 1966 World Cup it was sooo hot in our living room with all the excitement. That was when footballers were footballers just like my Ken

Re: What was that song......
Just thought Barb the club above The Silver Blades Ice Rink was Heartbeat. That was where you'd have heard Ska and Rocksteady or even Blue Beat music for the first time before it evolved onto 70's Reggae.

If I could bend down on one knee Rob I would do that in front of you, but I can't get down that far without holding on to a chair
After listening to that link you sent you are so correct, yet again, about it not being Reggae and I apologise.
Heartbeat, yes, that's the one, where you had to have a type of passport photo taken to put on to a Heartbeat membership card and had to prove that you were 18 years old or over.
I love chit-chats like this, because I started off talking about cricket, which passed on to music then pop singers and football.
Still prefer the Bob Marley version.
