Isaiah Carter was born in Halesowen but lived at Blackheath in 1914. He volunteered for the Staffords and joined the Territorial 2/5th Battalion. They were sent to France in 1916 and early in the next year entered the front line. In following the retreat of the German forces to the Hindenburg Line in April, they captured the village of Jeancourt and were then halted at Le Verguier. Private Isaiah Carter was killed in action and is buried in Jeancourt Communal Cemetery (II C 8). He is commemorated on the Cradley and Halesowen Memorials.

Marriage is St. John Halesowen
I think 1891 Census has been transcribed as A. Kill not A. Kitt
Possibly original was noted by Census Recorder as A Kitt because of Black Country Accent which dropped H.

Edward Day Head 26 Steel Works Labourer born Sheffield Yorks.
Margaret Day wife 28 born Dudley Staffs.
Rhoda Day dau 6
