Where was Edwin Lloyd Williams in 1871? I've searched high and low but i can't find him. Born 1852 and living with his grandparents in 1861 married and living in Mott Street Blackheath in 1881 .

You were my last hope Jimmy.I thought if anyone can find him it'll be Jimmy The Cat !! I've heard that a lot of the 1871 census returns were lost in a fire. Is this true do you think? Maybe he was in Prison or an Asylum maybe. Were those people taken up by the Census? Military? Serving overseas? Shall i resign myself to the fact i'll never know where my GGrandad was in 1871? Thanks anyway James for the effort.

I've always thought a lot of the census records were damaged or possible unreadable, I've never been able to find my GGranddad in the 1861 census in the Brierley Hill area.

Thought perhaps I'd got something.........when you look at the actual record it says Edwin and Lloyd

Lloyd Williams
Record Type Baptism
Baptism Date 23 May 1852
Baptism Place Rowley Regis, Staffordshire, England

Can't see either in 1871 though, sorry :(

Thats my GGranddad San. Edwin Lloyd Williams born 1852. Both his parents were dead before the 1861 Census and Edwin Lloyd Williams was living with his grandparents George Lloyd Williams and Phoebe in Lapal Halesown.

did he have a trade in 1881 could he of been an apprentice with someone and not just recorded, or in a trade school of sorts?
A person should have an opinion on everything, It becomes tact whether you reveal that opinion or not.
