Following the discussion in February about Joseph Taylor (1782-abt 1842 on Connection) I have purchased the relevant death certificates and now have Joseph Taylor died on 14th March 1842 at Stoke Prior age 58 years, occupation Labourer, reason for death Decline. A Sarah Howard was present at the death at Woodgate and made her mark rather than signed the Certificate on the 15th March. The Registrar was W Johnson. I don't know of a family member of that name but on the 1841 Census there is a William and Sarah Howard a few doors away on Woodgate so presumably they came to help.
As Joseph's age is written as 58 years it makes sense that Joseph was born in 1783 not 1782 - the year has definitely been changed in the Family Bible and looks like the 2 has been changed to a 3 (see previous discussions for photo). His birth date was 4th April so he would have been 59 not 58 on the Certificate. The address and occupation are both correct.
Could the information be changed/updated on Connection?
