ARC TBC William Rose (1707 or 1709 - buried 10 Jan 1793?

Post by Waltzer7 »

William Rose Born/Bapt: Abt 1707 or 1709

I don't seem to be able to find a birth or baptism for my 6th great, grandfather, William Rose at St Giles, Rowley Regis on the parish records, Ancestry, Family Search and FreeReg. Other Trees have him born to parents: Moses Rose (1671 - 1728) and Mary Woods (15 Feb 1674 - buried 20 Jan 1724) but I have not seen any evidence of it...

I have found the children born to Moses Rose and Mary Woods.

Moses Rose married Mary Woods on 7 May 1695 at St Giles, Rowley Regis. File Line No: 111 FreeReg, which is also backed up by Rowley Parish Records
Baptisms of their children at St Giles, Rowley Regis:-
Moses Rose: 23 March 1696 - buried: 12 Feb 1728
Mary Rose: 28 Aug 1698
Margery Rose: 26 Oct 1701
Ann Rose: 27 March 1705
Betty Rose: 15 March 1708

Using the Rowley Parish Records, I could not find the remaining children from https://www.tribalpages.com/tribe/brows ... ver=551396

Thomas 1705
David 1710
Benjamin 1713

So who are the parents of William Rose who married Anne Bowater?

I have found another Mary Rose who was buried on 6 Dec 1718 at Halesowen, which reads as Mary Rose, wife of Moses Rose of Town, buried 6 Dec 1718.

There may be a possibility that my ancestor, William Rose B: Abt. 1707/09 may have been born to this Mary but I do not have access to earlier than 1717 Halesowen Parish records, only later part of 1717 to 1837.

The other Mary Rose (need Wood and also wife of Moses Rose) was buried on 20 Jan 1724/5 at Rowley Regis.

Is this still a Brickwall, or have you solved it?
