I am trying to find out what happened to Joseph Tandy born 1822 to John and Ann Gill Tandy.(on BCC) I can't find any record for him except bap. at Park Lane Church. Not on any census, so I assumed he died before 1841 census. I received 2 death certificates yest. from GRO and neither was my Joseph b. 1822. However, one of the cert. for Joseph Tandy( died 1856) was the son of my Joseph's brother, George, but the IGI lists this Joseph as son of another brother David, which I know is not David's as his son is on 1861/1871 census living with him. Is it possible IGI is wrong? Are there any records available for deaths prior to 1837? I think my Joseph must have died between 1822 and 1837. Any suggestions appreciated
Thanks,
Mary Ann

A person should have an opinion on everything, It becomes tact whether you reveal that opinion or not.

Re: Help with Joseph Tandy
Hi Mary Ann, there's a burial for a Joseph Tandy 1.5.1822 Cradley, aged 3 months. Mary Ann Tandy Buried 15.12.1831 aged 2. Ann Tandy was buried 27.7.1835 aged 33. I found David's Baptism he was David Thomas. Also second Marriage for John in 1837. The IGI is not 100% you always need to double check. Best Wishes Linell.

Re: Help with Joseph Tandy
Hi Linell,
This is my Joseph, I'm sure. The Ann you listed was my gggg-grandmother. The Mary Ann more than likely was also a sister of my Esther Tandy. Esther's 3 brothers bap. were on the IGI, but for some reason not Esther's. Esther was born abt 1833, so this will fill in the age gap between children. I can't believe you found this, thank you so much.

Re: Help with Joseph Tandy
Glad to be of help Mary Ann, I have an article on the Tandy's, they go back to at least the 1500's in Halesowen, probably before surnames were used, will be posting it on the History Section as soon as I can get round to it
Best Wishes from Linell.
