It was suggested that John Parkes might have died in 1864,and that the burial was:
30 Mar 1864 John PARKES Waterfall Lane Age 67 years
I now have a PDF from GRO for that death:
1864/Dudley/Rowley Regis/No 470 - reg 20th April 1864
Death on 26th March 1864 at Rowley Regis of John PARKES, Male, 67 years, Nailer.
Cause: Run over by a Horse and Cart.
Information received from Edwin Hooper Coroner for Staffordshire; Inquest held 30th March 1864.
So not much help in identifying John!
Is anyone aware how Inquest records can be accessed, please?
Also, I have now seen that on a marriage certificate in 1866 (for Elizabeth Batty) John is given as Father but no mention of being deceased. Was that normal at that time?

Thanks, and I think that it can be archived.
A search on newspaper archives did not yield any results, so I will have to go to archives when open. There was a suggestion that Lucy Parkes might be John's mother, but I will post separately on that.
