Railos or rails - referenced in Parish register

Can anyone explain what rails or railos are? There is a schedule in the Warwickshire Register which includes a list of family names who appear to own them?
I can post a screenshot if it would help?

can you translate as much as you can?

is it from a particular church..

so like a family would own a pew...and be responsible for it..

maybe where they would kneel to take communion....they would own a rail ...to lean on??

It would be nice to see the whole sentences, to get a better idea what is being listed.

Altar rails, kneeling rails, rails around a burial plot? It says "In primus" does it?

The majority is just a list but the bottom para is interesting yet mostly beyond me!

Reading stuff like this is not my thing - I expect others can do it better!

The livings to which some of those railes did belong are dimininished and the land sold away, and it is not fit that the poor people that lived in the houses should be put to repaire them. ??? there in me ?? that those who have but ?? six yards should be at the charge of a raile when those at ?? ?? livings ?? at no more.

Ancestry seems to have a transcript of this, but slightly different. The marriages match, but then a table of rents due the church?

What does the next page of your source say? Could this be a list of people whose rent/rates were being excused? Does the table above match anything you see next?

The Ancestry Rent and Tenants table is is a page or two earlier than the Rails info.
I've posted all there is on rails. It then returns to Births, Deaths and Marriages.

I think that it is either "rait" with the cross missing off the t, or else it is an obsolete word meaning the same thing.
Here is something about church rates https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Church_rate which it says were only in the Commonwealth period (1649 to 1660). That would fit perfectly date wise, and I think that the bottom paragraph indicates that the person writing felt that it was an unfair charge for the people.
You could try contacting the archives and asking them if they can explain it. I'm sure a historian would know.

I bought a few guides a long time ago from a person called Eve McLaughlin...I can't get hold of them at the moment but wonder if she or they could help? Interesting!

I think it might be more obvious - the opening para at the top of the page relates to a list of the rails lying on the south side of the church and to which livings they did anciently belong. At the bottom of the page it suggests that it's unfair to expect the poor to repair their rails because their situation has diminished.
Could the families have previously purchased rails to enclose the churchyard or to enclose individual graves? Or might it refer to some structures inside the church as suggested earlier?

there use to be cages over bodies to stop body snatching etc, wonder if it has something to do with that ? c 1658
