Hi,
Looking for the marriage between my 4th great grandfather Thomas Taylor (1776-1850) and Elizth (1781-1856) and seeing as their first child, Ann was born in 1803 at Chowbent, I have come across possible two marriages: -
9 Oct 1799 at Collegiate, Manchester, Lancs
Thomas Taylor
Elisth Bardsley
Register: Marriages 1799 from the Bishop’s Transcripts,
Entry 958
Source: LDS Film: 1545576
or
28 Sept 1800 at All Saints, Hindley, Lancs
Thomas Taylor B Wigan Township, Wigan Parish
Elisabeth Clarkson S Wigan Township, Wigan Parish
Witnesses: William Armtige, Ellen Prescott
Married by Banns by John Croudson Curate
Register: Marriages 1754-1807, Page 41, Entry 161
Source: LDS Film 93751
As there are no clues to their ages and seeing that I live over 200 miles away, would it be possible for someone to look them up, for their ages, parents, occupations, any clues?
My 4th great grandfather Thomas Taylor (1776-1850) worked as an Iron Founder in Chowbent/Atherton area before they moved to Bolton and worked as a Brass Founder.
It will be very much appreciated.

NAME: Thomas Taylor
SPOUSE: Elisabeth Bardsley
MARRIAGE: 9 Oct 1799 - Manchester, St Mary, St Denys and St George
This one has Thomas signing his name but Elisabeth just her mark. And Thomas is a "dyer" if that is any help.
It was not usual to have age or parents recorded.

Thank you. I've just googled St Mary, St Denys and St George and it appears to be a cathedral? Seems too grand a place to get married in? Would a dyer involve dyeing cloths or linked to Iron/Brass Foundry?
