Hello, looking for PRICE family

Post by OriginalBigBri »

Hi, I've just joined the forum - been looking at the message boards on Ancestry but they look really slow.

Although I'm a Yorkshireman living in Berkshire, most of my family are (most recently) from Lancashire, and I have a lot of info on my Mum's side who lived around Little Hulton going back 400 years.

Where I'm struggling now is my PRICE direct line who were around Sedgley in Staffordshire up until around the early 1900's when the family moved up to Bolton.

I've also got a PRIEST line, which going back, the name changes to PREES, PREECE and PRICE.

Would love to hear from others (possibly distant relations?) researching the same are.

Welcome to the forum, I see you've already made a start in the General section  but if you want information regarding Sedgeley ancestors try posting in the Black Country section.
Currently investigating the Hillmans of Sussex.

Thanks for the welcome.

I will definitely look at the Black Country section - half my family come from there but it's one of the few parts of England I haven't been to. Was hoping to spend a few days up there visiting churches but in lock down mode at the moment

Hi, thanks for the welcome.

I haven't done a DNA check. I'm a little paranoid about letting some company (particularly an American one) have any information like that. (I develop software for Police forensics and crime scene imagery and we have to be very careful about how/where we store confidential/sensitive information).
