ARC TBC Non-existent birth registrations!

Can anyone help me find birth registrations for the following? I've been digging about for what seems like an age but haven't come up with anything useful!

Mary Alice & Albert Poutney
Both baptised 04/02/1881 at Christchurch, Gailey, Staffs.
Children of Elijah & Alice Poutney (maiden name Jellyman I believe)
Abode: Canal Side
Father's Occupation: Boatman

I believe this is Albert in 1891:

William Pountney, age 13, scholar, born Gailey
Eliza Barnett, age 10, scholar, born Wheaton Aston
Albert Pountney, age 5, scholar, born London
Harriett Barnett, age 3, scholar, born Wolverhampton
Mercy Pountney, age 9 wks, born Wolverhampton

And 1901:

'Giggetty', Wolverhampton, Staffordshire:
Henry Cowern, age 71, canal boatman, born Campton
Jane Cowern, age 59, born Bilston
Phoebe Cartwright, age 40, born Wombourne
Eliza Cartwright, age 6, born Wolverhampton
Thomas Cartwright, age 2, born Wolverhampton
Albert Poutney, age 16, born London
Phoebe Cartwright, age 8, born Wolverhampton

I can't find out what happens to him after this point, or find a birth reg either. I have no records for Mary Alice at all side from the baptism mentioned.

Also worth noting that I've seen the surname spelt various different ways - Poutney, Poltney, Poultney, Pountney etc

Can't see a birth for Mercy Pountney,

but there is this,

BARNETT, MERCY mothers maiden name JOHNSON.
GRO Reference: 1891 M Quarter in WOLVERHAMPTON Volume 06B Page 616.

Yes, I have the birth registrations for the other Pountney children - it's only Mary Alice and Albert that I can't find.

You're correct with that birth reg. for Mercy though, Elijah married Eliza Barnett (nee Johnson) in 1892 - Mercy, Eliza and Harriett on the 1891 census are Eliza's children from a previous marriage.

looks like the date 4/2/1881 is wrong, Mary Alice christened the same day as Albert.

I can't see anything for Mary Alice and Albert under any spelling of Pountney.
