Re: Florence Margaret Barker nee Margaret Baker-- Jo sorting
I should add regarding William BARKER, I ordered birth certificates for the following GRO entries for William Barkers born 1840+/- 2 years in the Dudley Union or Stourbridge union RD and none had a father called James BARKER (On Williams marriage certificate I emailed yesterday, James BARKER is mentioned as the father, Sarah Ann BAKER the bride):
1) GRO Reference: 1840 J Quarter in DUDLEY UNION Volume 18 Page 330, mother's maiden name GUEST
The birth certificate for this William born 10 Apr 1840 shows a father named Joseph Barker, Miner, Mother Sarah Barker formerly Guest resident at Puppy Green, Tipton
2) GRO Reference: 1841 J Quarter in STOURBRIDGE UNION Volume 18 Page 466, mother's maiden name ATTWOOD
The birth certificate for this William born 3 May 1841 shows a father named Zachariah Barker Miner, with mother Hannah Barker formerly Attwood resident at Commonside, Kingswinford district
So I've dismissed these as my William Barker.
Jayne
BTW I think the William BARKER GRO Reference: 1838 S Quarter in CLEOBURY MORTIMER Volume 18 Page 36, mothers maiden name BLOUT, is the cousin of my William and the son of Thomas BARKER, the uncle and blacksmith who my William was living with on the 1861 census on Kingswinford High str

thanks that's the marriage of James Barker and Elizabeth Barker- I'll put the transcript of their marriage on a new thread for James and Elizabeth, other potential children and other potential relatives of theirs.
I agree with the Christening info for William, but I also see 30 Sep 1838 for James with father James Barker and mother Elizabeth at St Mary's Kingswinford.

Re: Florence Margaret Barker nee Margaret Baker-- Jo sorting
yes I agree we do have her on twice. The GRO has her as Margaret Baker (not Florence Margaret) so I assume we go with that name.
Yes I agree her details are confusing, it took some effort to track her.

Re: Florence Margaret Barker nee Margaret Baker-- Jo sorting
Wonderful, thank you!
Sorry but before you archive please could you add -
1939 Register recorded as Florence M Barker with date of birth, the same as on her birth certificate.
19 Carlton Terrace, Carlton, Barnsley, Yorkshire
James Barker born 18th Feb 1871, Married, Coke worker (Retired)
Florence M Barker bn 27 Aug 1871, Married
Amos BARKER bn 17 June 1897, single
James BARKER bn 4th Sep 1922, Single
And assume James bn 1922 might need to be left off.
Great to have the line from my grandfather, James Alfred Barker, linked into the BCC tree, thank you very much.
I can give you details of his 2 marriages too before thread is archived.

Re: Florence Margaret Barker nee Margaret Baker-- Jo sorting
Yes James Barker 1922 could not be added unless we have a date of death.
We try to stick to 100 year rule.
The other marriages we can not add unless there is more info.
If you have a look I think all is all added?
Thank you to all that helped.
